ILAYDA AVANGARDE OTEL
İlayda Avangarde hotel is located on the coastline opposite Kuşadası cruise port. The building was designed by Architect Salih Zeki Beijing as a holiday hotel in the early 1980s. Due to the growth and development of Kuşadası and changing conditions over time, it was decided to give the building a new identity.
ILAYDA AVANGARDE HOTEL AS A HOLIDAY HOTEL
The desire to be in the forefront in the silhouette of the structure and the immediate surroundings
Since the region is an area approached by cruise ships, the potential for passengers coming from the sea is significant. For this reason, the main starting point of the design was to prioritize the perception and stance of the building in the silhouette along the coastline and to make the building noticeable.
The adjacent twin of the structure is 25% larger than the structure. This situation was seen as a negative impact on the desire to be noticed, and an attempt was made to overcome it with the compact design of the project under a shell. The rhythmic setup created by the modules on the facade, in contrast to the fragmented setup on the facade of the holiday hotel, strengthened this perception. In this way, the building was able to be more holistic than its neighbor. In its newly designed form, the facade of the building is perceived as wider, although it is narrower than the adjacent building.
