Mimar, ihtiyaç duyduğumuz mekanları tasarlayan ve oluşturulabilmesi için gerekli olan çeşitli disiplinleri (inşaat mühendisi, makine mühendisi, elektrik mühendisi, peyzaj mimarı, jeoloji mühendisi, harita mühendisi, iç mimar ) organize eden, hem fonksiyonel hem de estetik mekanlar üretilmesini sağlayan kişidir.
