'Architecture' in the Land of Fairy Tales
First of all, hello sevgili herkes,
I have a story for you. This story is about a project and its process that I came across on architectural platforms recently.
A competition was opened in Russia and the project area was in an area where paragliding is very common. Anyway, one day it was decided to build a mixed housing project in that area and they organized a competition with international participation. They were so enthusiastic that World famous architects were invited and participated in this competition. Among the participants in the competition, big names such as Fuksas, Zaha hadid Architects, Steven holl . Not to give spoilers, but Steven Holl Architects won the competition. So how did he get away and win the competition? This is where the story really begins…
Years ago, there was a citizen named Sergie who lived in Russia. Sergie was a fan of paragliding. Every day in the morning, on his way to work, he can't help but watch those who dance in the air with parachutes , He was always late for work. In fact, being late for this job one day was a reason for in this new (!) world where people can be popular for a day appeared in newspapers as a subject of humor. Sergie, who couldn't get enough of watching the aviation school in the field, became so well-known that all of Russia suddenly talked about him. On top of these events, the competition jury decided to take the last minute decision to consider the projects that came before announcing the results. ="s1">They wanted to show it to Sergi in order to look at it from the eyes of different users.
Sergie, who first saw the project designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, found it very interesting and liked it. But he underlined it. He said, "I am an ordinary person who does not understand design or architecture." Without forgetting this, he added the following comment. According to him, it is a very different, beautiful building.
Then Fuksas' project came. Sergie looked at it again and liked it. This is a very different and interesting building, but as I said, I don't understand it. To me, they are all interesting, as if they were all different. According to him, they are all equally beautiful. Architecture was that simple in Sergie's eyes . For him, if a building is different and interesting, it is beautiful, but if it is like the buildings he sees everywhere it seems ordinary..Jury ' Convinced that Sergie could not make up his mind;
Finally, they showed the project designed by Steven Holl. Sergie loved it, liked it even more.
Because seeing the view he thought he had lost, at least a little bit, in images made him happy. He was very pleased that his ideas were taken into consideration with this project . He felt very valuable as an ordinary citizen and continued to go to work every day, looking at the designed structure, remembering the old days. This is what won Steven Holl the contest.(!)
NOTE: Most of the characters and plots in the story have no connection with real people or events. Sergie is imaginary.
